How to delete pages from a PDF

Delete vs. split — which one do you need?
They're opposites. Delete keeps everything except the pages you list — best when you're removing a few pages from a big document (blank scan pages, a cover sheet, an appendix). Split keeps only the pages you list (or breaks every page into its own file) — best when you're extracting a small piece. If you're unsure which fits, think about the count: "remove these 3 pages from 80" is delete; "give me pages 40-42 of 80" is split.
Lossless, as always
Deleting pages copies the survivors into a new document exactly as they were: selectable text, embedded fonts, full-resolution images. Nothing is re-rendered or recompressed, so the trimmed file is the same quality, just shorter. The original on your disk is never modified — the result downloads as a separate file.
When you need it
- Blank pages from scans — duplex scanners routinely capture the blank backs of single-sided originals.
- Sharing safely — remove pages with sensitive figures or personal details before sending the rest.
- Cover and filler pages — portal uploads often don't want the cover letter, table of contents or legal boilerplate.
- Trimming before merging — delete the junk, then merge what's left with other files, then compress if it's headed for email.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?
No. Page removal happens entirely in your browser. Your document never leaves your device.
How do I specify pages to delete?
With numbers and ranges separated by commas: 2 removes page 2, 5-7 removes pages 5 through 7, and 1, 3-4, 9 combines them. The remaining pages keep their original order.
Does deleting pages reduce quality?
No. Kept pages are copied as-is — text stays selectable and images keep their resolution. Nothing is re-rendered.
What's the difference between delete and split?
Delete keeps everything except the pages you list, in one file. Split extracts only the pages you list (or breaks every page into its own file). Use delete to remove a few pages from a big document; use split to pull a few pages out.
Can I delete all pages?
No — a PDF must contain at least one page. If you try, the tool stops with a clear error instead of producing a broken file.
Does it work on password-protected PDFs?
No — encrypted PDFs cannot be opened in the browser. Remove the password in your PDF reader first.
